8 Days From Marrakech to Tanger via Merzouga departing from Marrakech in which you will have the opportunity to know the most emblematic places of Marrakech and then cross the Tichka mountain pass and enjoy a wonderful adventure through what is known as the route of the thousand kasbahs, visiting various Berber villages, ancient adobe fortresses, palm groves and hamadas all the way to the impressive orange dunes of the Merzouga desert in the Sahara. You will live a magical night in a camp located inside the dunes, where you will enjoy a Berber percussion show under the starry blanket of the desert sky enjoy your 8 Days From Marrakech to Tanger via Merzouga .


Pick up in Marrakech airport

Our driver will meet you at the airport in Marrakech and take you to the medina where a porter will take your luggage to the riad where you are staying. The rest of the day is free to explore.

Guided City Tour With An English Speaking Guide

After breakfast you will be joined by an official local guide to see all the sites with historical and cultural interest, including the Koutoubia Menaret; the Saadian tombs; the beautiful Palace of Bahia and the Ben Youssef Coranic School. Finally, end the morning by walking through the medina alleys -getting a chance to admire all of the different artisans performing their crafts before arriving at the famous Jamaa El Fna Square. In the afternoon you will have a chance to walk around the famous square by your own.

Overnight in Riad

Marrakech - High Atlas - Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou - Ouarzazate - Dades Gorge

After breakfast, we leave the plains and wind our way up into the High Atlas Mountains. Here you will pass many Berber villages and catch a glimpse of their lifestyle. At 2260 metres above sea level, we cross Tizi n´Tichka; the highest drivable pass in Morocco. On the way down we stop to visit the Ksar Ait Benhaddou; this UNESCO site has been the location for many movies including Gladiator and Prince of Persia. After a lunch break, we continue to Ouarzazate; the cinema capital. You will see many kasbahs as we pass the palm grove of Skoura and enter the Dades Valley. Kelaat M’gouna is the Roses capital where fragrant pink roses are grown around the fields and harvested for their oils and perfume. In Boumalne Dades, we take the road up into the gorge where we spend the night.

Dades Valley – Merzouga

Following an early stroll to admire the authentic breakfast. Meet your driver for the onward journey through the Anti-Atlas Mountains and the lunar landscape towards the town of Alnif. Continue to head Merzouga through the Berber village of Tinghir and the Todra Gorge — a small village on the edge of the mighty Sahara Desert. You will cross several Berber villages, then a break for lunch at either Tinjdad or Rissani. Meet your camel caravan and, as the golden sun begins its slow descent over the dunes, set off toward Erg Chebbi, continue to Merzouga and join the Berber camps in the middle of the Erg Chebbi sand dunes, the highest in North Africa. Experience the camel trek where your secluded camp in the heart of the desert awaits. With the rhythms of traditional tamtam drumming from local nomads to entertain you, enjoy dinner and an evening under the stars before retiring to bed. Explore Merzouga with 4x4 - Overnight in a Hotel

An early start is recommended to watch the first light of the day emerge on the horizon; a special time when the silence and colours are breath-taking. After breakfast, you ride the camels back to meet your driver and start your desert adventure. Khamlia is a village inhabited by descendants of Sudanese slaves that once worked the mines. Now they play a soulful Gnaoua performance which you will visit. In the afternoon, your driver will drop you off at your hotel where you can relax and enjoy the views.

Merzouga - Ziz Valley - Medilt - Ifrane - Fez

Enjoy the typical breakfast in the HOTEL, then hop back into your vehicle for the onward journey to the holy town of Rissani, the birthplace of 17th-century ruler Moulay Ali Cherif the founder of Morocco’s ruling Alaouite Dynasty.
Continue to Midelt for having lunch then head along the Ziz River where fortified kasbahs (traditional Moroccan fortresses) lie among dense palm groves.
Travel through the cedar forests of the Middle Atlas and onward through the fertile Saiss plains, where native flora and fauna thrive. In the early evening, arrive at your riad or hotel in Fez .

Explore Fes with local guide and drive to Chefchaouen - Overnight in Chefchaouen

After breakfast, your local guide will arrive to take you on a walking tour of this car fee maze of some 9000 streets. He will show you some of the more amazing sights and artisan workshops in the souks.in the afternoon, we drive north to the blue city of Chefchaouen through beautiful woodland scenery with mountains and rivers. Overnight in Chefchaouen.

Explore Chefchaouen and driver to Tangier

In the morning you have free time to explore and take photographs in this colourful medina. Discover its narrow streets full of little shops, galleries and craft workshops. Wander the alleys and stairways to discover its secrets. We then take the two hour drive to Tangier for the end of your tour.
