Fes was the capital of Morocco until 1925. Fes has two old Medinas, the largest of which is Fes El Bali and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, for being one of the largest urban areas without cars.

The city is served by shuttle Saiss and there is also train station, with connecting lines to Oujda, Tanger and Casablanca.

Fes is famous for its leather products and by its old factories of leather, being the largest, oldest and most known to “Chouara Tannery” .
