The idea of the program is to cross the Jbel Anaouar mountains, to the southeast, to arrive at one of the most fantastic areas in Morocco: The Drâa Valley.
Lined with date palm groves and walled villages (named ksour) it is marked by the river of the same name that runs through it, giving a spectacular green landscape backed by mountains that provide impressive backdrop.
After that, we arrive to the town of Zagora, the main town in the Drâa Valley, where the famous ‘Timbouktu 52 days’ sign was posted for years. There is Jebel Zagora, a nice viewpoint rising over the Drâa River, which includes the climb to make this experience complete.
We’ll leave Marrakech at 7:00 am, pass through the Atlas Mountains (200 km the through highest Atlas Mountains in Morocco ) and at 09h30 we will do a short stop for breakfast at the beginning of the mountains in Tadart Village.
After that we’ll drive to ‘Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah’ where we will do a long stop to explore The Ksar of Ait-Ben-Haddou (on the World Heritage List of UNESCO since 1987) and where many movies were registered :
Lawrence of Arabia “1962”
Sodom and Gomorrah “1962”
The Man Who Would Be King “1975”

The Jewel of the Nile “1985”
Killing is not playing “1987”

After the visit to Aït-ben-Haddou kasbah we will drive to Ouarzazate city (which is the capital of cinema in Morocco) and stop there for lunch. After we will pass through Agdez and many Berber villages we will visit the Drâa Valley and its Palmeraie.
Then we drive to the center of the Zagoura desert and we leave our driver there. After we ride camels for an hour and a half to the camp. After we arrive at the camp half an hour before the sunset, then we will drink tea and men we will have dinner will play music for one hour around a fire.
